A number of US lawmakers have threatened to go after the IOC’s tax-exempt status as a way to further express dissatisfaction with the Winter Games being held in China. Although this really just seems performative on the part of the politicians, it would be an interesting, if ineffective path to follow.
Any voice that opposes the tramping down of human rights should be encouraged, so I will refrain from this opportunity to espouse further on this discussion.
