This will be an interesting to story to watch as it develops. The rise of human rights with the world of international sports is like the genie that will not go back in the bottle. How organizations deal with the issue will be critical. It is important to remember that becoming an athlete, doesn’t mean you stop being a human, and you don’t surrender your human rights.
Not only is this debate going on in Europe, but it is also taking place across the globe. The price of not addressing it could be very high. The possibility of Olympic boycotts being the highest level of protest for dissatisfied athletes.
